He made it! On his fourth try to find an access area to climb to "Eagle Eye" , a 12-15' diameter hole in a high rock face. There is no path to the "eye", it was a steep, rocky climb with some impressive drop offs. He kept his eye open for dangers (like snakes) since he saw several lizards scurrying about.
He couldn't see the "eye" as he climbed, and came out on a precipice about 65' ABOVE the "eye.". He had to go down and find a new route, which meant changing sides. He finally succeeded. The hike up took over an hour, quite a climb. However, the trip back down seemed more strenuous. In all, it took a little over 2 hours to make the round trip. While at the top, he found a bottled geocache and added his photo card to the treasure.
We spent an hour in the hot tub tonight!
While Paul was climbing, I stayed below as several sightseers visiting the area. We made some interesting new aquaintances and plan on visiting them soon.
