DESERT MIST

A few shots Paul took of the park and surrounding desert after the rain. It was quite lovely seeing the mist rising over the desert.

GETTING GREEN

The rain is already turning the desert green. I can see buds starting out on the Brittle Bushes that will soon burst bright yellow with blooms.

ANOTHER MINE SHAFT

More exploration revealed another mine shaft, straight down into the earth.

THE WARM MINE SHAFT

While Paul was out exploring Eagle Eye, I found this mine shaft (notice the moisture from the rain at the entrance) and wandered inside. It was light and bright, and amazingly warm on this windy and chilly day.

Paul points to "Eagle Eye", an interesting rock formation with one large and one small hole in it. He wants to hike up to that point sometime soon.
I am sitting at "Blue Wall" a really cool place where copper minerals stain the rocks a pretty aqua color.
The RZR sits at the base of a hill, showing the beautiful trail leading to our destination.

THE OLD ENGINE

Paul and I took advantage of the sunny tho very chilly day to do some exploring. This old 1950's stationary engine still turns over.

Rainy Day in Arizona

So wierd to look out the window of the RV and see rain....but there it is, and cold out too! I'll bet we will be rewarded tho, with beautiful desert blooms in a week or so. Bella takes advantage of Paul's downtime with an outstretched leg request for a belly rub.

PARKER 425 2009

It was cold with rain on Saturday for the 2009 BlueWater Resort & Casino/Best in the Desert Parker 425 off-road race. The wet weather took its toll. Of the 265 vehicles that left the starting line, only 77 finished the race.

Paul and I didn't get to watch the race due to the rain and cold, unfortunately. We did ride the motorcycles to Parker on registration day and get to view up close the awsome vehicles that were registering to race on the 7th.

Welcome Gift

A welcome gift from Denny Mills: (not the real dog...the stuffed one) was quickly claimed as Bella's playmate. Thanks Denny!
